RHAMNOALGA (Sustainable Production of valuable RhamnoLipid biosurfactants in green microalgae)

Development of new biotechnological applications of microalgae

Funding Sources:
Government of Catalonia
Funding Agency:
Type of Project:
Individual project
Period:
01/01/2023 a 28/02/2026
Funding:
144.300€
Project current status:
ACTIVE

The project will implement new biotechnological applications of microalgae using synthetic biology, metabolic engineering and biocatalysis technologies, thus contributing to a biobased economy using renewable resources to produce high value and pure rhamnolipids variants.
Rhamnoalga will develop a biofactory for the production of mono-RL in microalgae chloroplast and implement the production of di-RL by biocatalytic approach.
