Dr Juan Albacete, Postdoctoral Researcher with the Sustainability, Social & Ethics (SEE) Group
1. What do you like most about your job?
Everything. For me, research means constantly encountering the mysteries and wonders of the world and human beings. It means trying to understand the precious chaos in which we live a little bit more. It means debating and questioning everything, empathizing, being sincere with others and with oneself, and changing your mind again and again. It means understanding life and, through it, learning to live.
2. What would you like to spend more time doing?
Spending time with my family.
3. What are you proudest of?
My family, my partner, my friends, and where I’m from. Personally, trying not to harm (nearly) anyone and being able to combine my learning and my personal development with enjoyment, friendship, love, laughter, music, and other earthly pleasures.
4. What value do you appreciate most in people?
Simplicity and humility.
5. Where’s a place you’d like to visit?
Prado Maguillo in Jaén.
6. What’s a dream you’d like to pursue?
Going by horseback between my two favourite places, Úbeda and Granada, close to family and friends and doing what I like.
7. What do you have left to learn?
Pretty much everything.
